Summer Camp Activities
Anti-Talent Show
A playful twist on the classic talent show—campers perform something intentionally imperfect, silly, or simply not their strength. Whether it’s a K-pop dance or an off-key Adele song, kids practice taking social risks, letting go of perfectionism, and facing fears of judgment.
Skills built: Social risk-taking • Reducing perfectionism • Confidence • Tolerating judgment
Scavenger Hunt
Teams traverse campus while completing challenges tied to real-life fears—like talking to someone new or tackling “gross” situations. With support and a little competition, campers practice approaching what theywould usually avoid.
Skills built: Exposure • Facing fears • Teamwork
Roaches & Reptiles
Campers face fears and “yuck” reactions by interacting, at their own pace, with insects and reptiles. The focus is on noticing thoughts and body reactions, building tolerance for discomfort, and taking small steps toward approach.
Skills built: Distress tolerance • Exposure • Courage
Emotion Quests
Campers try out a range of strategies to manage emotions— think sensory tricks and nervous system resets. Through hands-on practice, they discover what actually works for them and leave with go-to tools to use beyond camp.
Skills built: Emotion regulation • Distress tolerance • Coping flexibility
Escape Room
A fast-paced team challenge where campers solve puzzles under pressure. Along the way, they practice managing frustration, staying flexible, and using coping strategies in real time.
Skills built: Frustration tolerance • Cognitive flexibility • Problem-solving • Collaboration

The creativity and thoughtfulness of this camp exceeded my expectations.
Empowering and fun.
This camp built up the child and let him work on areas that needed assistance, without him feeling ashamed.
My child started camp very nervous and closed off. By the last day, I finally saw the real him shine through. I hadn’t seen that in a long time. He was open and genuinely happy, thank you for this. Thank you!
Each day was very engaging, and he learned skills and made good progress rather than just having fun and passing time.
My camper felt seen.
She made some lasting connections. I believe it motivated her to come to camp and engage more.
This is my child’s second summer at anxiety explorers, and it’s his favorite camp.

This camp was life-changing for our family.
My son really enjoyed the camp and meeting other kids with the same struggles. He said that the therapist made it fun along with doing the hard work.
I love that anxiety and fun got to exist together.
You have to do more of these! We need more camps like this.
